The response options and item scoring are based on the CASP-19 as it appears in the English Longitudinal Survey of Ageing (ELSA). This differs from the original paper but has now become the most commonly used format. The same scoring format should be used for the abridged versions of the scale with the relevant items. Higher scores indicate better quality of life. Results of the various psychometric tests of the scale will be added shortly
